Up for purchase is a real good one. I've owned a lot, I've played a lot. This one is a notch or two above usual. Looks, sounds, and plays beautifully. No salesman bs.
Made at the Corona plant in 1994 (neck made by Oscar Pallares, Custom Shop Builder in the 90s), this particular American 62 Reissue is an extremely good example of the production quality of that era. Fit and finish on these were much better than the newer AVRIs.
No mods or repairs have been done. Original neck, pickups, bridge, knobs, pots, etc.
Bass weighs 9.13lbs / 9lbs, 2oz
Nitro finish, alder body.
The 4-ply tortoise pickguard has a dense, compact pattern that is all red and black in color (rather than containing the usual whiter areas).
The neck is "the neck." C shape with the slimmer profile the 62s had, 1.75" at the nut. Very comfortable.
Neck is arrow stright, low action (no buzz).
The wood is a real feature of this bass, grain pattern is subtle but very uniform and attractive on both the body and fingerboard.
Cosmetically speaking, it's been well preserved. Any dings are called out in the photos. Minimal fret wear if any.
It's last setup was a few years, so I can't speak of the intonation currently, but i do know when it was set up, it was great. It has flats on it right now which I think it plays best with. Warm, round, articulate tone, it's sound is classic.
Comes with the original tweed hardshell case as you see pictured in the photos.
Payment via PayPal, shipping via UPS. (Estimated $80-$120 depending on where you're at.)
