This one is a sweetheart. Originally born as a fretless bass it was outfitted with frets at some point in its history. I had the frets professionally leveled and dressed by a master luthier and it plays beautifully with very low action and no buzzing. Super straight neck with 2 truss rods that are barely engaged. Has a big and mellow tone that can be shaped into whatever you wish with the famous Alembic Series I filters. Beautiful Koa front and back laminates. The clear coat has mellowed to a lovely golden honey color over time. Comes with a very recent DS-5 power supply and 5-pin XLR cable and its original blue(!) hard shell case. Very comfortable neck with a 1 11/16” nut and standard taper. The pickups have been updated at some point with “Alembic” engraved ones and the pre-amp PCB has been checked and refurbished by Alembic 2 years ago.
