Up for grabs is the crown jewel of my collection, a stunning 1992 Warwick Streamer Stage II Five String Fretless Bass. I’m just not a very good fretless player, let alone on a 5 string so it’s time to let go. This bass was crafted during the “golden era” mid 80’s thru early 90’s when all Warwick Basses were still completely hand made. Fretted Streamer Stage II Five strings from this era are rare enough and only pop up once every year or two, but a factory fretless, well you probably wont ever see another one. This bass features a gorgeous dark Afzelia body, 7 piece Afzelia/Wenge neck construction, unlined ebony fingerboard, brass adjust a nut 1, Gotah tuners, MEC pickups, and Warwick floating bridge. A prior owner upgraded the pre-amp to an 18volt Agular 3 band OBP3 and a new heavy duty output jack. This preamp has a mid selector switch with separate stacked volume controls for the front and rear pickups, mid, treble, and bass controls. This bass has “THE” fretless sound, think Pino Palladino, Tony Franklin. There was also a mute switch which the previous owner removed and had the little hole filled in. The truss rod is in good working condition, the neck is very straight with just a hint of relief, the action is low and extremely easy to play, one of the smoothest playing fretless basses out there. I just put on a brand new set of DR Sunbeams, light gauge 40-120. The bass will be shipped in the non original hardshell case pictured via UPS. If you’re a fretless player don’t let this one get away, it’s likely the only one you will ever see and one of the best playing and sounding fretless 5 strings you will ever get your hands on. Includes shipping to the continental US.
