If you're looking for a unique, player quality Rob Allen, this is your bass.
I am selling a Rob Allen Mouse 30. It does not have a piezo pickup, but two Seymour Duncan magnetic pickups not unlike a Jazz Bass configuration. It's a 30" short scale bass and is currently strung with Galli BSN700 chrome flatwound strings. It has a 1 5/8" nut width and two controls: volume and balance between the pickups. There is no tone knob. It has a unique copper-y top for the body I've never seen on any RA before or since (I've owned two Deep 4s and a Solid 4). It has white/cream binding and comes with the original RA-branded Levy's gig bag. The bass weighs 6lbs(ish)
I played it out I think twice last summer and for the most part it has been sitting in its gig bag here. It doesn't sound like a J or a P; in some ways it's a bit of both which is neat. I just never bonded with it fully. Ultimately , I found what I was looking for tonally in another bass. The neck radius is flatter than I normally like (not sure exactly, but it definitely is not 7.25). I'm not someone who keeps something just because; it's a good bass that should be played.
I am not the original owner. Here is the TB history as far as I can tell:
Thread where I bought it from April 2021
August 2020 thread
August 2019 thread
April 2015 thread
September 2010 thread
That means the bass is from at least 2010 or earlier. The comic sans Mouse 30 on the headstock is also a dead giveaway it is an earlier RA.
I did no work on it other than restring it, so anything the previous seller mentioned is still true such as bindings, scratchy blend pot, dings, etc. There were some other signs of use I didn't see captured in previous pictures; none were added by me since this thing has pretty much been in its case.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Price: $1750 shipped to the lower 48. I would prefer to sell here and not on Reverb. My feedback speaks for itself.
Not looking for trades of any kind. Sale only.
