I'm curious as to what detuner you used for this. I have a Fender American 75th anniversary J bass and I tried using the Hipshot BT2 model, and it fit, except when I dropped it down for detuning part of the hardware was peaking out from the front around the headstock. Not exactly a deal-breaker, but it kind of was annoying. I ended up putting it on my 75th anniversary P bass instead, and it didn't have that issue. I'm still looking for the right size detuner for my J.
