You know this amp. Legendary, and for a reason.

This one is museum quality. I bought it from a shop in PA, where I did my residency. It belonged to thr shop owner as a "private stash" bit of NOS gear. Since I've bought it, I have less than 2 hours on it...I was way into my Mesa Walkabout for years and never bothered to find a preamp to mate the CA 9 to. Eventually I paired it with an Aggie db680 and I have to say I was/am floored by that combo. Heft, articulation, depth...its all there.

Why sell? Well, I've moved away from Baltic birch cabs and have 2 composite ones now. I'm afraid this amp at 52 lbs will crack/destroy them as they are 28 lbs each. Plus space is at a premium in the house so Class D it is.

These amps go for 300-600 in decent condition and they were 1400 new. This one is the cleanest one around as far as I can tell. 1/2 new is a good price for what is essentially an as new product.

Shipping I would like to avoid but if you want to bear that cost I can drop the amp off as at ups or FedEx, sure.

Is it a later one with Speakon output jacks?

Banana plugs :) I wanted one without the speakons because I had read at the time that the later versions had reliability issues.

Banana to speakon is readily available on Amazon though :)

I have one of these too and also in museum quality. I used it to power a Servo Drive Subwoofer back in the day. The Servo Drive since it was motor driven can put a 1 Ohm load on an amp. The builder of the sub at the time recommended the Crest CA9 since it can handle any load without issues. I have seen these tested to run at 1000 watts per channel at 1 Ohm. Killer amp that will piss on any Class D amp. If yours sells I will follow. :)

Reviving this thread and knocking off $100. Need a new boiler more than gear, time to get some things moving.

Great thanks for quick response.

Where in NY are you located? I’m in NW NJ, work in Sayreville. Can easily trek into the city.

Would you accept $375 cash?

Thanks for your time.
