For sale 1981 Rickenbacker 4080 JetGlo

This is one of my dream basses, but it's time for me to let this one go. It's a 1981 Rickenbacker 4080/6 with JetGlo finish. It was professionally refinished in 2020 by Larry Davis (Davis Guitar Works - Luthier for Custom Rickenbacker Guitars). Larry also refretted both necks and replaced all of the binding.

This bass had the exploding wavy Grover tuners on it. Larry "swaged" the tuners, but ultimately, I decided to replace the Grovers with Klusons. The original Grover tuners will be included in the sale along with the OHSC. Everything else is stock as far as I know.

There are 2 very minor finish flaws. Check the pics. The scuff was difficult to get a good pic of and it's very minor:

• On the bass headstock, there is a scratch about 3/8" long
• On the bass headstock, there's a scuff mark

Both necks play great and all of the electronics work as they should. Since I've owned it, it has been gigged twice - once before the refinish and once after. It spends almost all of its time in the case in a closet in my smoke-free home.

I would prefer to not ship this bass. I've done it, but it's just a risk that I'd like to avoid. I'd rather meet the buyer half way if practical or make other arrangements.
