Newly posted on 11/5/22: I took this post down two years ago, and the story below remains the same -- 100% unused since then -- back in its case. I'm pricing it as it is, because that is a little less than was paid to build it to spec originally. This model no longer exists, is desirable, and prices of everything have increased. It was a gift from my parents (extremely thoughtful) -- so the only way I'm selling it is if I get back essentially what was paid, so that there's three winners here: (you for grabbing the bass you want, my generous parents for getting reimbursed, and my guilt for not playing it ever is ridden). Otherwise, I'm keeping it due to sentimentality. I'll eat the shipping costs, CONUS 48.

I built this as a gift to self from self, and NEVER play it. Once I got my Fender P-bass 5’ers shortly thereafter, this went into its case and has laid dormant like Austin Powers. So, it is in near-mint shape. Details:

I built this as a gift to self from self, and NEVER play it. Once I got my Fender P-bass 5’ers shortly thereafter, this went into its case and has laid dormant like Austin Powers. So, it is in near-mint shape. Details:
- Surf green; third photo shows accurate color.
- “5001” means it’s got a chambered body. 8.5 pounds.
- It has active/passive tone control and bypass.
- Ebony neck with abalone inlay. Headstock has abalone logo to match.
- Back of neck is satin, painted to match body color.
- Luthier suggested I upgrade the wimpy stock tuners to beefier-sized USA Hipshots. He modified headstock to accommodate improved tuners; there is a tiny gap on back of headstock (photo’d) where you can see one of the pegs has a tiny gap. Does not affect a thing.
- Dunlop strap locks.
- I’d call it dead mint, except for a tiny under the surface blem that is not able to be photo’d, and you have to squint to see it. Fretboard and frets are as new.
- I would recommend a fresh pro set-up, lube for possible scratchy pots, etc.
