This is part of my bass selloff. This one's special. SUCH a killer look, feel and tone.

This Duesenberg Starplayer 4-string bass guitar was originally purchased from a retail shop in Germany in 2022. It is spectacular. Absolutely gorgeous. It is lightweight, has tone for days and very hard to find. This bass is magnificent.

If you know Duesenberg, you know that every bit of this bass is perfectly designed. The translucent vintage orange finish is superb, not to mention the awesome flame maple back. The hardware screams attention to detail. The the playability is unlike most basses out there. The frets have been factory Plek'd, which means they've been computer leveled to within a millimeter, so you get low, fast action and perfect playability. And it ships in Duesenberg's ridiculously protective and well-made custom bass guitar case. Seriously the nicest, best-fitting case I've ever seen for a bass.

At just over 8lb, this bass balances well on the knee and on a strap. It is light in weight, but not in sound. Thick, classic, woody vibes are what this bass delivers. It’s fantastic with flat wound or round wound strings (currently strung with flats). Its warm, passive sound is perfect for the studio. But the hot Bassbucker pickups will sit nicely in the mix of any live band, from jazz to country to oldies to hard rock. They'll know you're there.

Check out the video for sound samples of the Duesenberg Starplayer.

Brand new, these basses typically ship from Europe. With that come high shipping costs and customs fees/import duties. This is an opportunity to own a gorgeous, hard-to-find bass at a great value, shipping within the Continental US.

From the website:
The Starplayer Bass was designed to complement the overall construction of our Starplayer TV model. It is a short scale semi-hollow bass delivering rich and deep bottom end.

Semi-Hollow Construction
Semi-Hollow instruments deliver a unique and open response that cannot be compared to the sound of a Solid-Body construction. Our specialised construction additionally blocks most feedback and keeps you going even on high gain levels.

Bassbucker Pickups
Two of our Bassbucker Pickups will give you clear and rich overtones and crisp response in any situation. Seperate volume controls for each Pickup and a master tone dial allow you to blend the pickups to your preferred setting.
Plek Processed
A Plek processed fretboard guarantees perfectly level frets. This is the basis for our multi-step fret polishing and setup work all done by hand that eventually makes all our instruments play like nothing you have ever played before.
Fundamental bass
The Starplayer Bass builds on the overall construction of our popular Starplayer TV model. Therefore, the Starplayer Bass is made from spruce for the arched top, flamed maple for the back and bent sides and American Hardrock Maple for the neck topped off with a 12" Indian Rosewood fretboard.
Switch it on... or off.
The Starplayer Bass was designed with studio musicians in mind. The two separate volume controls for each pickup let you choose between endless blend options of both pickups. If you need to go dead silent in the studio, a small switch on the pickguard lets you switch off the bass completely without loosing your pickup blend setting.

Man what a beautifully appointed bass. If it sounds as good as it looks I need to find some capital. Wonder if I can sell my cat?
I've never played this bass out. But this past Sunday, I was slated to play at a local church, so I took it. I usually play active 5s in that setting. I was genuinely curious how a 4-string semi-hollow with flats would do. Turns out it sat in the mix really well. I've never gotten more comments about a single bass, both on the look and the tone. One church member (a fellow musician) texted me in the middle of the music and said "Ok that bass sounds awesome and is a sexy beast!" I think they took him to a special room for spiritual intervention. :roflmao:
