DESCRIPTION:
B.C. Rich’s signature model bass for Greg Weeks of technical deathcore legends The Red Chord.
This incredibly short-lived model was never truly given a full launch by B.C. Rich due to the restructuring under Hanser Holdings at the time right before the brand tanked; and thus, very, very few of these Eagles were ever put into the marketplace to be sold. There was only one run made by B.C. Rich; and according to what extreme lack of info is available online, I am assuming that less than 10 were made based on my research and looking at the serial numbers (roughly 7-9 max).
I put in a ton of research time and legwork to find this particular bass. Seriously, an absurd amount of effort. And it is with much reservation that I have ultimately decided to let it go in order to fund another big gear purchase. So, hop on it because you probably will never see another one for sale going forward.
This has been my main bass instrument for when I actually record live bass lines instead of programming bass. And holy cow…it thumps! Perhaps the most present (in a mix) bass that I’ve played thus far.
Spec highlights:
— Mahogany body
— Koa veneer top (reminiscent of the classic B.C. Rich Eagles from the 1970s and 1980s)
— Gloss finish
— 34” scale length
— Neck-thru construction with a hard maple neck
— Ebony fretboard with cloud inlays
— 24 frets
— Traben high-mass, internal bridge (the bridge extends into/through the body wood)
— Rockfield humbuckers (positioned close together in the “sweet spot”)
— Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
— Controls: 3-way pickup selector blade, 3-band EQ (one knob per band), volume knob, coil-split switch (splits to the outer coils)
— The Red Chord band logo inlaid below the bridge
