Details

Absolutely fantastic ‘55 style Mark Jenny (MJT) P Bass, built to be a replica of Sting’s original 1955 Precision! The neck is super straight and plays awesome with great low action and no issues. Truss rod works great. The finish on the back of the neck is removed over the entire playing area, and the wood was darkened to look just like old wood. And it feels incredible!

I’ve owned the bass for 5 years now, and I’m selling because I’m thinning the herd right now (so please no trade offers). However, I do really love this bass a lot so I reserve the right to come to my senses and pull the listing if I decide to keep it! Here are all the specs...
  • AllParts Neck (1 5/8” nut/thicker profile like a real mid ‘50s P)
  • MJT (Wildwood USA) Body
  • 2-Tone Sunburts NITRO finish, and all relic work by Mark Jenny.
  • Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 Quarter Pounder Pickup (which sounds sooo good!).
  • Relic Fender Reverse Tuners. The bass originally had ‘70s style tuners on it, which I switched out for more accurate pre-CBS relic reissues (the holes from the original tuners cannot be seen with the current reverse tuners mounted).
  • Wilkinson Adjustable Compensated Bridge
  • Hand-made, wooden finger rest (like the originals had)
  • Strung with TI Flats
  • Very lightweight at 8 lbs. 10 oz.!
The coolest thing about this bass to me is the amazing relic work on the neck and fretboard, which looks extremely authentic, just like a real 1950s workhorse maple neck! All in all, one of the coolest early style P Basses around!

Will ship in an old Fender bass case (seen better days but still functonal/gigable) and packed very securely.

NO TRADES. Shipping included CONUS.

Not trying to be a smart-ass here, but the front of the bass looks incredible....great work. Is the back of the bass also authentic to Stings? Or just a guess?
Cheers.

Is there a forearm contour? Also, is the truss rod the Phillips type or Allen type?

The back is also authentic to Stings as well.

This thing is about as close as you can get to a Sting or 55/56 original outside of the real thing. MJT is the best in the biz.
