Came to my senses on this one after just playing it...will keep it a little longer. This is a very tamed MM (aged rosewood fingerboard...sweet tone) that also has that aggressive MM tone when desired.

I'd consider it a slate gray. The pick guard sets it off nicely with a good contrast....very nice looking bass! Sounds great..holds its own!
