Sometimes a muff sounds best when you turn the volume and distortion way up. However, that’s too loud for most normal playing. On the SR, you can turn up the TFR side so that it has enough vol/power but then use the boost side as a throttle. Turn that very low so that it just lets through the amount you want. It almost acts as a master volume. This is very handy because I find that if you can’t turn the TFR volume to at least 1 or 2 o’clock you get a wet blanket effect and the tone is just mushy. But, this is often too much for group playing…best of both worlds here.
