Refurbished by Keith and team.
I purchased this bass last year. Upon receipt, I found the action was far too high and was difficult to play (I have a light touch). The blemishes on the top, while small, were larger than I expected and I prefer mint/near-mint instruments.
Within hours of receipt of this bass, I reached out to Keith to discuss the options we had to make this bass look and play like new. Per Keith's recommendation, I decided on the tobacco burst with a poly finish to make the grain of the Flamed maple top really pop while also removing the blemishes.
To address the poor playability, I asked Keith to perform a complete setup with the Elixir strings I provided so the action is as low as possible without excessive fret buzz. I also requested his Plek service to be sure the frets are perfectly level.
During reassembly and testing, Keith found the cable jack was failing and offered to replace it with a higher quality unit than what the bass originally came with, which I agreed to.
The result is a gorgeous Century Standard Plus 5 string Bass with a perfect finish, excellent tone, and playability.

The previous owner paid to have the standard volume control replaced with a passive/active push-pull volume control. Very handy when the need to switch between passive/active modes is needed.

This bass has 18.3mm string spacing. I thought I could adapt to the wider spacing after playing Warwick basses (16.5mm) for many years, but after a few hours of trying to make it happen, I realized this old dog can't learn this new trick.

process. He and his team did an amazing job refinishing/refurbishing this bass. It looks, plays, and sounds like new and is in mint condition.

Note: The dark shadow bars in some of the photos are caused by the sunlight through a window with a framework in between the glass panels. I used the pictures because the sunlight really shows the beautiful grain patterns of this bass, although Keith's pictures of the refinished body are really the best photos overall.
