Details

I purchased this beauty from a fellow TBer a year or 2 ago. It is by far the most stunning and best constructed Fender I have owned. Tone range is extremely versatile. The bass has not left my smoke-free studio since I purchased it. I am including the original deal thread as the condition has not changed. As hard as it is for me to sell this one, I have to fund a recent purchase of a Lakland.

Possible to run the neck pickup passive?
Yep. The controls are volume, pan, stacked bass/treble and preamp. You can dial in what you want of the preamp with that knob or go pure passive. I typically have it at a 4 or 5.

were the electronics changed at all?
if not , just throwing this out there. I have owned a few of these as they are my favorite bass and i have asked many different people if these are able to have an active/passive switch installed. The consensus was always no due to the electronics. I think it had something to do with impedance.
The stock electronics are vol, blend, bass/treble, mids. The newer model of this that has the single Jazz instead of the dual jazz is active/passive.

The electronics are stock. The mid actually acts like an active/passive cut/boost. That is how I think of it. Take the mid all the way down and essentially it sounds like a passive P bass.

makes sense. I thought you figured out a way to get it to run without battery, which i would love to be able to do just in case.

anyway, GLWTS.
Anyone that may be on the fence, These things are amazing tone machines. I've owned at least 5 of these over the years and it's always a first call instrument.
