Offering Valenti #51 for sale, no trades please as I'm funding a new build.
I commissioned the bass with Nino in 2007 and am the only owner.
Specifications:
Nino built this bass with the Sadowsky preamp. I recently pulled it out and added an Emerson passive VVT electronics kit that includes the treble bleed modification and a paper & oil cap on the tone control. Personally I think the bass sounds better passive than with the Sadowsky preamp but will ship with both. Reinstalling the Sadowsky is 5 solder points, super easy. Or leave the Valenti passive and use the Sadowsky on another project you may have.
I took the middle 6 years of this bass' life off from gigging, so its mileage is rather low for its age. It is in very good condition, with one 2-3mm chip near the bridge, a second small blemish near the arm contour, 2 tiny dings on the back that are too small to show in pictures, and normal swirling from use. See the pics.
I recently had the frets dressed and the nut lowered. It's running very low action right now, and has EB Cobalt Flats.
Here is a thread I posted recently including soundclips with Pressurewounds and Chromes on this bass:
Valenti J5 Soundclips
Nino tells me that this bass would cost $3250 to build new. I'll go $1750 and split shipping to the CONUS. Comes with a TKL Zero Gravity case.
No trades please.
