Hey kids,
Uncle Rick here again. I never thought it would come to this, and you can say "I told you so" later when I change my mind and realize the error of my ways. However, I have gone (mostly) digital and switched to an HX Stomp. I'm getting too old to lug the huge pedalboard around, so I'm going to be sending off an extensive amount of gear in the coming days to new, loving homes.
Up third, the highly regarded Broughton Omnicomp. I'm an optical compressor sort of guy. I've owned my fair share, and this is one of the best. Incredibly tweakable, with just the right amount of fatness to juice your tone in all the right places. Subtle, yet perfect. It's incredibly flexible, powerful, and darn near impossible to get a bad sound out of. Ever since first discovering a compressor with a HPF built in, adjustable or otherwise, I'm not entirely sure I could ever live without it. The Omnicomp's HPF is not adjustable, but it's just there, all quiet and humble, working in the background in the perfect way to allow just enough of the low end to pass through unaffected to allow the low end, and particularly the low B, to sound natural and full. And the compression indicator lamp (a true reflection of what is actually happening within the optical circuit) is very helpful in dialing in your compression.
But don't take my word for it. Or on second thought, do. But if you don't want to, here's the link to our trusty Scubaduba's review:

The compressor is in minty fresh condition, and will ship with the often-imitated-never-duplicated white box. And I'll even throw in the semi-professionally applied velcro, free of charge!
I am asking$200 $190 via PayPal shipped via USPS Priority Mail. I will knock $10 off if you use the PayPal Friends and Family payment method, for a total of $180. I will ship within 2 business days of receipt of payment.
I would consider a partial trade for a Southampton All Things Equal v1 (the small, wee one) + cash, because I need one of those. Or I would trade even stevens for an Empress Bass Comp, because I'd like to try one of those with a recent bass acquisition. Thanks.
And now for the good stuff:
