This is a phenomenal guitar amp... I've used it for bass as well and it also sounds great, but it's magical with a hollow body guitar. Fact is, I'm just not a guitar player and it's not getting used in my studio. So, I'm letting it go in hopes of fulfilling some other aspirations for my studio and some possible upgrades.

Here's what George Alessandro say about it on his site:
A 60 Watt, 2×6550 based amp for home, studio, and gigging. This amp has an extremely dynamic tonal range that covers straight ahead Jazz to a Funk or Bluesy style. This amp was optimally designed to work with a 1×12 Alessandro / Cerwin Vega Speaker, to deliver an acoustic Archtop sound. Utilizing the 6550’s voicing, this amp delivers a smooth, warm and “woody” tone.

The price is negotiable. Shipping is extra, local pickup is preferred.

Feel free to ask questions if you have them.

I reported a bug last night, but checking on my computer this morning and the images are still correctly oriented. I did notice the thumbnail for the post is upside-down though... very weird.

J-raj!!! What’s happening, brother! Man, it’s been a long time.

Yeah, dude… Nik’s Place was THE spot and much fun was had there! I’ve been chatting with Mike about doing something similar, but have yet to find a venue. John said he’d be onboard with something for a Monday or Tuesday, but those solo acoustic gigs pay too much for him to want to be on the drums for a any other night of the week… which I totally get!

The amp is stunning, both in looks and tone! I’m seriously considering pulling the listing down and scrounging up the money for upgrades another way. Hahahahaha…

I bet that amp is great in the studio with a nice (weathered) broken-in sealed 15" cab & condenser mic. Currently the tube head (Ag's DB359) I have been using is so weight-prohibitive for gigs (it stays home) and it's not super silent for recording, unless it in a separate room from the cab.

Hope that band rides again, really sounded seamless, and y'all are monsters all around! Tell McKnight a dirty joke for me and that I said "what's up!" Hopefully I catch you guys' gig when I swing through ATL the area, sometime soon.

Will do, man! I will definitely let you know.

Yeah, I’ve never had a tube amp that doesn’t make some sort of buzz… accept this one. It’s dead silent… as quiet as my Vanderkley Spartan. It’s crazy.

I’m having second thoughts about selling this. I’ll give it one more week…

Edit: I keep going back and forth… still selling for the time being.

With passive basses, my go-to for the last several years has been a Noble into a Microtubes 900 through a Barefaced Super Twin or Super Compact. Lately I’ve been enjoying the Epifani UL-901 through the same cabinets.

With active basses, I’ve used a Trickfish Bullhead 1k. (I recently got a WD-800 that may get in the mix too.) Again, with the Super Twin or a Big Baby 3.

I love the sound of the Van (especially with a good compressor in front of the preamp), but not the weight (and extra gear). This one (the Italian Greyhound) has only been used in my studio… I don’t want anything to happen to it, so it has not been gigged… It’s a better guitar amp than it is a bass amp anyway. (Still sounds great on bass though…)

If I was doing more studio work, I’d likely keep them all. :roflmao:
