Here's something you don't see everyday…

Steinberger XP2 bass from the mid-eighties. Made in New York at the Newburgh facility. Most of the XP2 models had passive pickups, but this is the significantly rarer active EMG pickup model. Controls are volume/volume/tone. Battery is accessed through a removable section of the pickguard.

This one is in solid condition. Despite the black body showing signs of wear and minor touch-ups, it looks great and get lots of comments from fellow musicians and audience members. Hard maple wood body with solid graphite neck. Neck has the perfect amount of relief and the frets are great. Like all Steinys, it plays beautifully with a great piano-like tone that can also be dialed down with the treble cut. Lots of bottom end here as well…it simply a great axe, and much more affordable than an L or XL series…but with a very similar tone palette.

Includes factory original gig bag, which shows some previous sewing repairs, but is solid and fully functional with no holes.

$1750 shipped CONUS. PayPal Friends & Family only.

Reasonable offers considered…don't be bashful! :)

the decal isn't faded; same neck and electronics as an XL but looks somewhat more like a guitar and less like a big black shoebox than the fully composite ones ... hard rock maple is a pretty good compromise as far as woods go ... half the price too ... if I didn't have one, I'd get this one!

Green Knight…maybe you need a spare/backup? There's a deal to be made here if you're game!

BTW…love your signature! "And in the pocket bind them"…If Sauron played bass, it would be one of these, for sure!

Thanks! Nope, I can afford one nice bass at a time and this is it for now. Then I have a build coming due soon, too. I need to save my pennies!

If Sauron played bass, it'd be THIS:

Man. I just found one on GC for a STEAL and missed it! Then I see this.

Clearly meant to be if I hadn't already dropped some dough on a bass…

This is an excellent example of an XP-2 I've seen. If it's still here by the end of the month, let's talk :greedy:
