Just took this in trade, but my Dingwall covers all of my 5-string needs.

EMG-Hz pickups, 2 band preamp (EDIT: a TB member in the Spector club thread said this is probably the EMG BTS preamp: it has two dipswitches on the PCB), 2 volume controls, neck-through, brass nut. I can understand why the Spector/EMG combo is so adored.

It’s got a decent scratch on the back. It’s not through to the wood as far as I can tell.

The bass is also heavy. Probably 10 pounds. The rest of my bass are in the 7.5-8.5 pound range, and this one is heftier. I don’t have a scale.

Comes with a basic, teardrop shaped Levy nylon gigbag with backpack straps.

Asking $500 if you pick it up from me here in Los Angeles. I can ship it for actual cost, but it may take a couple days before I can get to FedEx or UPS (buyer’s choice - I dislike both services equally).

Offers will be entertained. No trades, please.

EDIT 02.06.23:

After some detective work, it's been determined that this is a 1999 Spector NS-2000/5. It is not an NS-95, but it is 34" scale.

Thanks for the heads-up. The PO had it listed as an NS-95, and now that I’m looking at the NS-2000/5, I’m not sure how to tell the difference. Any tips?

The biggest difference is that the upper horn is much thinner and flared way over the left on the NS-95 model, as demonstrated in this picture. The NS-2000 series fattened up the upper horn a little, but still had a different shape the the traditional NS body shape.

Dug around a bit and based on the fact that this is 34” scale, non-figured maple, it seems to be an NS-95.

This is the only info from the Spector website:

also, I agree it's an NS200/5. i wanna get this thing and play some BTBAM...

I'm willing to ship, it'll just take me a couple days to get out to ship it. If you're interested, PM me and we can work it out.

It's 34" scale. Spector's only official documentation still available on their website states that the NS2000-5s were 35" scale. So, either the doc I shared is wrong, or maybe there was a transition year where they made the NS2000-5 in 34" scale? I don't know.

I'm going to email Spector and see if they can provide an answer.
EDIT: They're website doesn't have an email listed for questions, stating instead that the data sheet is the "only official data available for import basses." I'll post to a Spector club thread and see what they say.

This bass may be some sort of transition year model, or Spector's own customer support page needs to be updated to indicate that the NS-2000/5 was available in 34" scale and without a figured maple top.

I've traded this bass locally, but I'm providing one last update for future generations of Spector owners. I contacted PJ Rubal, who is Stuart Spector's business partner, and he stated that this bass is a 1999 transition year NS-2000/5. Not many of these were made with these specs, so that's why the official documentation (which PJ made) does not reflect these specifications 34" scale, non-figured maple, EMG Hz pickups and BTC electronics.
