These are cool looking basses. I wonder why they went with reverse headstock on these?

I think that is a Wilkins touch. I had one of his early 5 strings with the same headstock.

On the Wilkins website all the basses have a regular headstock. Only the "Low End" collaboration has the reversed.

True that, but he started using that headstock design on some of his early builds, not with Low End. I personally love that design!

I've built several BEAD tuned 4 strings and two 5 strings, and I can tell you that a reverse headstock is a design improvement. Almost all B strings have too long of a wind length to be hitting a tuner post an inch or so past the nut. Having the fat part of the B wrapped around the tuner post is not good for several reasons. The WLE reverse headstock has the B tuner (it looks like) several inches from the nut, which would work with almost all brands.
