Selling my Phil Jones Bass BG-300 Super Flightcase bass combo amp with OEM cover. In great condition. Check out the reviews online. Very portable and big sounding for its size. Handles a low B easily. Has 6 x 5" speakers with 2 of them facing up. Great for both electric and upright players. This is a sought-after combo no longer in production. Probably my favorite Phil Jones combo of all time.

I'm in Chicago (northwest Lincoln Park). If you're local, you're welcome to stop by, check it out, and play through it. I'd rather do a local sale on this but am open to shipping it to a good TBer. I would ship with PirateShip so it should be reasonable. I always pack extremely well.

I haven't sold a ton here on TB, but I have on the 'bay and reverb with almost 2000 all-positive feedback reviews. (portchicago on the 'bay and PorterChicago on Reverb.) I'm listing a bunch of basses and gear here on TB since I have too much stuff for just playing at home these days.

From the PJB website:
Super Flightcase (BG-300) 250W of Compact Power
Like its smaller brother, the BG-150, this amp has amazing power and performance-to-weight ratio. Not only it has great acoustic output to play loud, but the bass is incredibly rich and deep with authority and control never heard before in an amp this size.

Sparkling high frequencies and transparent mid-range emanate throughout the stage as well as to the audience, allowing the player to deliver his sound to everyone with clarity and precision comparable to recording from a world-class studio.

I'm interested and intrigued by your PJB amp. I already own the briefcase. Love the sound and use it for my practice room. I've been wondering how the 2 up-facing speakers in the 300 work in real life. Does it seem to make that much difference?

I previously owned the Briefcase...great small combo! I feel the up-facing speakers definitely make a difference in many applications. This design allows one to hear their bass better on stage vs just pushing the sound out our legs. For me at home, I think it also adds some spatial "size" to sound and sounds very open. I absolutely love this combo for fretless. Perhaps that's why upright players have always raved about the Flightcase and Super Flightcase. (Lots of good info from this group here on TB and other websites.) This thing provides a lot of sound for 33 lbs and is probably the warmest tone of the PJB combos I've had. (I've had everything in the PJB line but the big cabinets.) Let me know if you need any additional help or info. Thanks!

That's all great information, thank you! I was looking to replace a small combo amp that seemingly died on a gig last week, but found out it was actually not a problem with the amp but the bass guitar. So, even though the urgency is less, I'd still like to have one of these. I'll give it a bit more thought and get back to you. Is that your best price? Thanks again.
