Details

Up for trade is my very own, designed and built for me, Olinto J4. Not interested in selling this bass.

I’m the original owner.
Placed the order in December of 2021 and had it shipped to me in March 2023.

Specs:
-Roasted Alder body
-Nitro 3 Tone Burst
-Maple Neck
-Brazilian Rosewood from a Special Pre CBS Fender Stash that Eric obtained.
Extra dark as I requested:)
-Clays dots
-Metal Logo
-Olinto Pups
-1.5” bone nut
-7.25” Fretboard radius
-Vintage Style Med / Med frets
-Tort Pickguard
-Fender Ash tray covers
-8.84 lbs on my Rapala Fish Scale

This bass is my ultimate and only 4.

As for trades, 5 strings preferred, may consider 4 or 6 strings in either fretted or fretless.
Preference for Mahogany or Walnut body specs. Alder is preferred over Ash. Will look at exotic body woods as well. Fretboard material preference is rosewood, ebony, other dark or exotic woods over maple.
Ash body / Maple fretboard is my least favourite spec.
Please identify string spacing, nut width, and weight of a potential trade (if you can)
Brands of interest: Alleva Coppolo, Alembic, Olinto, Spector, etc.
Open to unique and interesting trades.

Whatcha got for trades? Send me a private message. Don’t post trades to this thread.
I’m not interested in selling at this time.
$5000.00USD plus buyer pays shipping is the price tag if I were selling.

Please provide specs and pictures with trade offers via PM.

Ships in like new Gator case.
Condition is new, noticed a few marks on the pickguard but body is clean.
This was a fun build! The low action is fabulous and at Fodera level!

What happen to the bass It has a bad crack in the back side. My question is for such a great producer of fender copies why roast a two piece body. I'm just an observing.

That’s not a crack it’s a joint seam with a piece of wood to join the two piece body.
Most, even high end basses are made with a two to three piece bodies.
Two to seven piece neck.

i believe one of the reasons is to prevent warping while the wood dries and ages.
Hope this helps.

To my eyes, it doesn’t look like a piece of wood joining the two sides, called a spline in woodworking. It simply looks like each side of the body accepted the finish color with different intensities, which is totally normal. I would add that these Olinto basses are beautifully made, and mine plays and sounds as well as any bass I’ve ever owned. This finish color is unique and gorgeous.
Wish I had the capacity. GLWTS.
