That is one insane bass. Every one of those woods is near impossible to find. Let alone build a bass from them. That wenge in the fingerboard/neck is mesmerizing!

The timing on this is killing me. GLWTS. Hoping I can put in an offer soon. Just not in the cards now. Beautiful bass. Someone is getting a steal

Any idea the radius on the fretboard or fret size? How would you describe the feel of the neck? I've noticed this bass has traveled through TB a few times now. Is there anything wrong with it? I've heard great things about Drake basses, it surprises me this has not found a permanent home yet.

Hello
The neck is a shallow D, similar to a fender, jazz bass neck profile. Very fast & comfortable. Not sure on the radius, but there is a radius to it. I’m not sure of the fret size either but medium, not jumbo or banjo.

As far as the movement on it, I think it’s because of gas, that would be my excuse. I tend to try a lot of basses & have a quite a few.

Andrews builds are excellent and I have nothing negative to say about it, just need to move it to pay for other recent purchases.

Thanks for the response! Is it equipped with strap locks? Any idea what the pickups are, as in humbucker or single coils?

This Drake was originally built for me. I last saw and played it about a year and a half if so ago when owned by a friend in Des Moines, Iowa. It had just been through Andrew's shop for a thorough check, set up and buff up. There was nothing wrong with it at that time and was in as new condition when it left Andrew.

It's a sweet bass. I only sold it because I was relatively new to five string, didn't have a gig that required a five, and had decided to focus on fours.

Regarding straplocks, the bass is equipped with the Dunlop locking system.

Hope this helps answer a few questions.

I appreciate your input! I've owned an Eshenbaugh in the past that, to me, was the pinnacle of craftsmanship. Granted, its also the nicest bass I have ever played. Arszon has owned one in the past as well and said Drakes are at a minimum of the same quality.

I'm thrilled to hear from you as the original owner! How would you describe the tone of the bass? I've not had a bass with a PJ configuration. Well I wish it had worked out for you, I'm thrilled that it is finding its way to me!
