Details

This case was purchased by a friend and used once before he bought a Lemur Flyaway and used that exclusively. He sold the Gage case to me during the pandemic. I have never even used it because when my travel bass was completed the body wound up weighing 15.5 pounds, making the body case a half pound overweight when loaded. I have to add more cushioning material because my upper bouts are so small putting me even further over the 50lb line. The case is in nearly mint condition except for some light damage to one corner that can be repaired at any fiberglass shop. All the latches and wheels are in perfect condition. These cases are hard to get and Gage is unsure if/when they will go back into production. I am asking $4200 USD.

What is the total length of the interior of the neck portion (ie maximum length of a neck/fingerboard that will fit) I will buy this if it fits my bass, I have an extension and an extra long fingerboard so this has been an issue with other cases, but as far as I knew it would fit in a gage, there were just none to be had, it was a pandemic bass.

Hi, its know it is dialed in for a traditional length fingerboard. I'm not at home to measure, but in my correspondence with another owner I was told the length of the foam cavity where the neck is supposed to reside is 125cm. Note that there is room on the scroll end to remove foam. My understanding is that extra-long fingerboards are a problem for most removable-neck cases. The leaf motif at the end of your fingerboard looks great.

Just FYI, if you check the bass body and take the neck case as carry on, it fits in most overhead compartments. The only time I had to gate check the neck (and was not charged for gate checking a bag) was because it does NOT fit in the overheads on a 757. Even the small commuter jet ( one of the little FockeWulf ones) it fit in the overhead....
