Fretless
  1. Y
This is a Wal Mk1 Custom Fretless lined bass guitar. The guitar is in pristine condition. I ordered it back in 2019 and it was delivered to me in June of this year. Since then it has had maybe 2 hours total play time on it. Unfortunately for me, a lot has changed in the intervening 3 years, and I cannot see me playing much in the future, hence the reluctant sale. If you're reading this listing, you probably already know about these guitars and their legendary sound, craftsmanship and playability. You probably also know that the demand for these instruments is such that the company is no longer accepting orders, and the waiting list, before it was closed, was up to 5 years long. This is your chance to get essentially a brand new Wal without any wait. I still have the packaging that it was shipped with, so it will arrive as it would have from the Wal shop.

The spec are as follows: Zebrano facings, Mahogany Core, Fretless lined Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard, Chrome M4S light tuners, Clear Satin Finish

What a beautiful bass! But that's a lot of wear under the "E" string on that ebony fingerboard (3rd photo) for only two hours of total playing time, even with roundwounds. Did it ship to you that way from Electric Wood?

No disrespect to anyone, but I feel there’s a lot of overreaction to fretless fingerboard surface scratches here on TB. I believe what that is, is the result of string vibration against the surface of the fingerboard, which is where the sound (mwah) of a fretless bass comes from, also the picture (angle/light) might make it look more extreme than it really is, which is nothing. I’m sure the person that purchases this bass will be very pleased, nothing sounds like a Fretless Wal.

No offense taken (or intend)! Everyone has their opinions about acceptable wear on fretless fingerboards - surface scratches or otherwise - although it's not nearly as heated of a topic as the lined vs. unlined debate. ;) My point was just that it seemed like a lot of markings in Ebony for two hours of playing time. That aside, this Wal is absolutely stunning. It's fairly priced and is indeed going to make someone extremely happy. You can almost hear the mwah just looking at the photos.
