My 2008 Skjold Custom Series (now called the Exotic Series) 7 string bass is one of three Pete has ever built. It's in very good condition. He recently told me that these specs would be ~$15,000 to order today.
This bass got me through grad school in London. It handled everything I threw at it, every studio, stage, or theatre pit session, jazz, pop, rock, prog, and every solo or duet opportunity.

35" scale (reach feels like 34 due to bridge placement)
Skjold pickups and active preamp, with push/pull active/passive, 4 position coil tap+pup selector, stacked bass/treble and mid/freq selector, passive tone control

18mm adjustable string spacing at bridge
Now comes with a Skjold gig bag in mint condition
Currently strung B-F, with a Skjold 6 Hybrid set plus a Curt Mangan Plain 20. Comes with a Gruv Gear fretwrap.
Bass has small finish chips on the front which appear to be over knots in the wood. See pics. Bass also had a small crack developing at the high-string tuner; repaired by Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville 03/2026.
