Hey kids,
Uncle Rick here again. Long time no see. I apologize for my extended absence. I know my harrowing tales reliving my glory days as a tuba player in the HS marching band have been missed by many. Just know that I never stopped loving any of you. But enough chit chat. Let's get down to business.
Up for grabs today is a Darkglass Microtubes X Ultra (aka the Shredmaster 2000). I purchased this bad boy used on the 'verb a few months back when I needed a small all-in-one unit I could take to practice. But the reality is I have an HX Stomp that can do what this thing can do (more or less), and it's just collecting dust at the moment. Baby needs a new pair of shoes! (Technically, daddy has some unexpected medical bills due to a herniated disk), so here we are.
If you know, then you know. The X Ultra is a next-gen distortion machine. I only relatively recently discovered the beauty of crossover distortion, ala Billy Sheehan. But now I won't leave home without it. It makes a huge . . . huuuuuuuge! . . . difference to be able to separate the highs from the lows and just distort the highs while compressing the lows. The result is a smooth, creamy, harmonic-rich, and yet tight sound that sits great in a mix. And this thing is infinitely flexible and can cover a wide range of tones. Not just shredworthy distortion that Nolly would approve of. Plus, with an aux in, headphone out, and XLR out, you could conceivably (and I have) show up with just this at a gig, plug into the board, and be sitting pretty. The included selectable cab sim is just the icing on the cake. With the Darkglass Suite you can add any of their many cab sims, or upload your own. I believe I currently have it loaded with a Shift Line 8x10 IR.
It's an incredible pedal. But don't take my word for it. Take this guy's word for it. He's much smarter than I am . . .
Or take this guy's word for it. He's played with Taylor Swift, and I definitely have not. So what do I know? . . .
The pedal is in excellent+ condition cosmetically, save for a few minor scuffs. And it functions good as new. I purchased it used and it did not come with any of the original goodies, so unfortunately I cannot offer those to you either. But I will include a short USB cable that I had on hand and used to sync with my computer.
I'm asking $305 shipped via PayPal F&F, or $315 via the traditional PayPal method. I will ship via USPS Priority Mail within two days of receipt of payment.
I am not interested in trades.
Thanks for looking!
And now for the good stuff . . .
