Original owner. Have had this harness on 2 different jazz basses. One a 1991 US Vintage Fender Jazz and the other a Warmoth parts fretless J bass. I kept this harness when I sold both basses but now I'm playing my double P bass pretty much exclusively and don't see me constructing or purchasing another Jazz type bass in my future at all. It'll be a long while, if ever.
So now this 5 way harness needs a new home somewhere out there. It's got a mid scoop switch on the tone control that you pull up to engage. I've included the description off of his website, from which I directly purchased and communicated with Andy about the harness…which also now has a 9-10 week build/wait time presently.
Free shipping in the lower 48.

Up until recently, I had one of these, but without the mid-scoop on the tone control. I installed mine into a parts-bass I assembled to donate to a high school music department. I figured it's simplicity would be ideal for teaching young'uns the basics of the controls and spare them all the fussy hair-splitting that comes with a V/V/T configuration.

They're perfect if one prefers a "set it and forget it" system. Just crank the selector switch to the setting of your choice, adjust the tone to taste and you're ready to rock.

Never heard of this, super interesting. I run my Js wide open, makes sense to have the flexibility.

Howdy, Do you still have this? And you wouldn't happen to be located in Nashville?
Hi, I still do and I'm in Memphis. I've got to get back to Nashville, got some great friends there I want to see. I thankfully have been busy with gigs all weekend so accept my apologies here for the delay getting back with an answer to your questions.

I found Rothstein guitars way back when while doing a web search for Jazz bass harnesses. This wiring assembly taught me that I really liked having my Jazz bass running in series. Parallel is what most of us only know probably and I'm a big fan of it too, but I truly love series on the gig. I had a Precision 30 years ago that had the series/parallel switch and it was nice to have the option but on the 2 pickup bass like a Jazz, it's a monstrous tone happening, with everything wide open. I use a double P bass now and it's like having a Jazz on steroids. The next Jazz I get will definitely have the s/p switch on installed on it.
Another thing about this harness is the out of phase mode. The tech who installed it thought it was too strange for him but I realized later that it could be useful with certain effects, etc…I only use compression and high/low pass filter pedals but I have a few multi effects Zoom pedals and it's actually cool with the time and wavy type effects to use this mode with them engaged.
