Up for sale is my 1997 Warwick Corvette Fretless bolt on. It's a German made 5 string with a lovely wenge neck, bubinga body and MEC electronics. I bought this on Talkbass a few years ago when I was going through a fretless phase. Ultimately I realized I didn't need more than one of them haha. Anyway, it's in great shape and has that signature Warwick woody tone. Please post any questions you have and I'm happy to supply additional pictures upon request. It came with a off brand hardshell case which is included. Price is $1300 OBO plus actual shipping. Thank you!

Yes, 2 band MEC electronics. Bubinga body, wenge neck with ebony fingerboard. I'm not sure about the weight but it is definitely lighter than my 14lb 6-string Corvette. I'll weigh it when I get home, but if you are hoping to find a light weight Warwick you can let that dream die.

Well, I think I know the exact 6 string you’re referring to ;) awesome neck on that one.

This fretless looks amazing, like it’s kid brother, GLWTS!

Haha, I suspect my 6 string Corvette is the stuff of legend here on TB. I believe that thing got traded and sold countless times because of the weight before I ended up with it. And yes, the neck on it is amazing. I brought the fretless to work today to weigh it on one of our shipping scales. I'll post the weight when I get that accomplished.

The later Ash-bodied Corvettes with Ovankol necks can be very light - my fretless 4-string (2008) tips the scales at just over 7.25lb. The downside of a light-bodied Corvette is the tendancy for neck dive, so it is a double-edged sword - I sometimes wish mine had just a bit more heft!! Point being that the Corvette geometry needs a decent amount of mass in the body to balance on the strap - sometime balance is more important that absolute weight.

Which is surprising, really. The Corvette body shape with that long upper horn was seemingly designed to make it balance well on a strap. I had really good luck over the years with a Levy's leather strap. It added some friction to the shoulder area to prevent slippage.
