  Up for grabs is one of the rarest of Warwicks, an early hand crafted Streamer Stage 2 five string made in February of 1992. This is number 180 ever produced. I’ve been playing Warwicks since 1990 and maybe I’m a purest but after owning and playing dozens since that time to me the older completely hand crafted basses from this era definitely have a feel and tone that the modern Warwicks don’t have.

These old Stage 2 fiver’s are prized and don’t pop up often, the last one I saw for sale was 4-5 years ago. The new “Master Built, Team Built’ Stage 2 fivers show up all the time, to me these older basses were all Master built because of their being completely hand crafted in the old factory. As far as I can tell from my research, the serial numbers, and playing these since 1990, the first year of production for Stage 2 five strings was either very late 1990 or early 1991. Ive never seen one earlier than 1991. The Stage 2 four string was introduced in 1987. This example is in remarkable condition for its age and barely looks played, truss rod in good shape, neck almost straight as an arrow with the slightest hint of relief, original 2 band EQ and MEC pickups. It’s set up with low action and has the classic Warwick growl for days.
