Never thought I’d sell this one…but I need a gig-worthy amp setup and mostly use humbucker-equipped basses these days.
I may be biased, but I think these are the best short-scale P-basses you can buy. Super light (seriously: 5lbs, 8oz!!), but still brings the thump. The pickup runs hotter than your standard vintage P style, and plays well dirty or clean. The neck is between a J and P width-wise, with a fairly thin D profile and flat fretboard. It’s easily the most comfortable bass I’ve played. Currently set up with low action and light gauge Ernie Ball flats.
The finish…well, it’s a gorgeous soft gloss black with a mellow sparkle and a pair of stripes - what more can I say? This one has Sandberg’s “soft aged” finish, so there’s some very light checking and it’ll wear beautifully.
Condition wise, I’d rate it a 9/10 - I’ve never gigged this bass and it’s only left the house a handful of times. The only two items of note: I did have to re-solder one of the output jack wires (the jack wasn’t entirely screwed in when I got the bass, so it spun around bit), but it’s had no impact on performance. As you can see in the pictures, there are also a couple of small finish chips around the jack. Other than that, she’s flawless! I’ll also include the original Sandberg soft case, of course.
Price wise, I’m not SUPER flexible - I think this is the best deal you’ll find on a Lionel right now - but I won’t be offended if you shoot me an offer. Zelle is good for payment as well. Trade interests are pretty limited as well, but if you have an Aguilar TH350/500 head or SL210/115 cab…I’d be very interested in working something out.
