I have this bass (with the bubinga top)...definitely the "poor man's" Ken Smith. I played it live this past weekend and the tone from it was electric through FOH completely dry. And it's LIGHT. The 35" scale makes the low register sing. Super refined build quality, would not disappoint at double this price.
