Details

2008 make in Candy Cola Red with the somewhat rare rosewood fretboard that is nice and dark. This was the first year of the thinner paint coats and it's got a few bloops and bleeps in the finish, mostly around the edges. I think it looks great and ages a little like a vintage bass. If you zoom in you can see them. There are two very small nicks on the neck but I don't feel them when I play it. You can see them in the bright daylight photo.

It has a Fender Deluxe bridge on it now. I'll include the original vintage high mass bridge as well and ship in its original SKB case. Currently sporting a Fender Pure Vintage '60 P pickup found in the newest American Vintage basses. Easily my favorite Fender pickup to date. 8.5lbs and plays great. $1100 shipped east of Mississippi, $1150 out west.

Reduced price a bit and included shipping. Did I just have a happy hour mojito lunch and purchase another bass? Yes, I did, so I need this to sell :)

Hi, the body looks to me like ash through the nicks?

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's alder. That's how Fender spec'd these at the time and is usually the case with their solid color finishes. That one shot of wood through the finish might show a little more grain based on the cut but I'm still inclined to think it's alder. I'm actually not sure any of the Am Std basses were offered in ash that year, but not positive.
