This bass was originally purchased by Chef in 2010 directly from the NYC shop where he had single coil pickups and black pickguard installed. He knew what he was doing and the single coils are the way to go, outstanding tone. He sold it in 2021 after getting an NYC WL, then unfortunately left us later that year. Owner two had it briefly, then it came to me in late 2021. My use has been solely at church only for those sets that needed a 5-string. I am moving to the same instrument but in a PJ formulation.

In my ownership of several Sadowsky basses over the years, I find that the Japan Metros are the value sweet-spot. Build quality similar to NYC, but used prices still reasonable. AND.... I understand Roger's shop will still do repair work on the Japan Metros, whereas the German Metros have to go to Warwick. Thats a big deal in my book.
Grain and finish:
The bass still has the original protective plastic on the electronics cover and back of the body.
