Price Drop: $1650!!!

This is a boutique bass hand-built by Peter Hanewinckel. It has a 3-piece Maple neck, 24 fret 34" scale with Wenge fingerboard. Neck shape is a flattened oval; somewhat thin, flat and fast.

It has a Walnut stained Alder body in Nimbus body style that feels very comfortable due to the shaping (see www.hguitars.com) Electronics are shielded and the cover is real wood. Overall weight is 9.5 pounds on my scale.

Got Bartolini MK5 pickups, Bartolini 18V preamp with 3-band EQ and a 3-pos mid peak switch to toggle between 250hz /500hz /800hz.

The second switch is a Hanewinckel special IN/OUT which gives 5 distinct, natural voicings to the bass based on switch position and blend pot:
  1. Normal setting (switch down): Full neck HB, Both p/u's blended HB, Full bridge HB
  2. IN/OUT setting (switch up): Outside coils Hum Cancelled (similar to a J-Bass), Inside coils Hum Cancelled (similar to a Music Man Sting Ray, single, wide aperture mid position p/u
Bridge is high mass with 11"/16" (17.5mm) string spacing. Action is good, I had it set up a year ago by The Repair Zone Luthier in San Diego.

It has some minor battle scars and dents on the body, nothing on the neck, see photos. Comes in a Gator Gig bag.

Just selling it since it doesn't get enough playtime since I got so used to my Lakeland's 55" scale 55-02 and I am thinking about a 55-94.

Would prefer a local sale but will ship on your dime wherever you want it.

I was one of the previous owners, bought it directly from Peter Hanewinckel. The bass has a tone that cuts thru the mix. I used on a progressive Rock band and the sound cuts thru keyboards and electric guitars perfectly. We did some recordings and it was when I really was blown away for the tone of this beauty. A unique one of Peter's creations. Grear TBR to deal with.
