This bass is in average condition and has some signs of the headstock's center seam slightly spreading but is structurally stable. This issue of this minor seam parting is common with this model year and is pictured in other listings often. There is some paint worn off and some rust on the bridge assembly hardware as well as the screws in the vol/eq knobs. There are various nicks and marks of all varieties throughout the body as this was a player’s instrument. Afaik I am the 2nd owner as the person I got it from said he got it brand new while in high school decades ago when the bass released.
If you are good with buying basses with “mojo” then this is a good fit. If you prefer case queens and aren’t usually flexible with the pictures of a listing not quite capturing all of the wear and tear on a well used instrument then I would recommend you pass on this.
The good about the bass is it sounds incredible as it uses the pickup system used on an Infinity bass. This system gives this bass a very clear and genre-less tone that tends to blend into anywhere and anything. Meanwhile the aesthetics of the neck inlays and Koa top make this stand out from just about all other Warwicks. This bass comes with some well used strings, the gig bag and that’s it. Weight is 161 oz per my kitchen scale. The gig bag is an original leather one offered by Warwick worth about $600+ to buy today after taxes, fees and shipping. The most recent sale of a 5 string model of these was on Reverb for $2,800 then $100 shipping plus tax, so just over $3.1k, and with a standard $100 gig bag.
