Up for sale is a MINT Kinal Kompact 5 Bass (E-C, serial KB99). I paid $2500 for this brand new from Mike and it was delivered new to me in 2021. It has never left my humidity controlled house and is in AS NEW condition. Comes with original gig bag. I’ve played it maybe 20 times total. Bought for jamming on the porch but have some home renovations looming and need to raise some funds. Really great bass, plays amazingly well and the preamp is killer. And check out the insane Maple backside!!!!
I recently gave it a full once over and put new Fender Phosphor Bronze strings on it. Truss rod feels great, action is nice and low. I’m a full time luthier and repair tech and I made a few small improvements to the instrument after I received it. Mostly, leveled off the fretboard as there were a couple wonky spots. I also made a very shallow slot in the bridge saddle for the C string to sit in as the spacing was slightly off and the action on the C was a tiny bit high. No open seams or cracks and the bridge is sitting nice and flush on the body with no separation. This bass was sold to me as new, but the signature in the sound hole says 2010. Not sure if this was a shop bass for Mike, or if it was a return…? Either way, nothing wrong with this bad boy at all.

2 pc Flame Maple neck w/walnut center stripe. Ebony fretboard. Maple front and back headstock caps. 30” scale. 18 mm spacing at bridge. Bone nut. No radius (flat).
B Band preamp and Pickup. Satin finish. Tuners w/ebony keys (tuner brand doesn’t match but style is same). Ebony bridge, bone saddle.
