I need to sell a custom-built Overwater short-scale bass in mint condition. This is a 2022 Scott Devine J Series model, handmade in England, bought new (and, after a six-month build time, with a price of roughly $3,400) and with custom options including a 30" scale length, 21 frets, reverse P/J pickup configuration, and a personally selected tortoiseshell pickguard. The bass features a slightly undersized swamp ash body, maple neck and fretboard, Overwater noiseless pickups, and a buffer preamp. The string spacing is a stock 16.5mm to comply with Scott's "own style of playing and philosophy of economy of movement." Stock hardware includes Hipshot USA Ultralite tuners and an Overwater bridge allowing for stringing through either the bridge or the body. The bass is currently strung with Thomastik-Infeld JR324 (.042-.056-.069-.093) Jazz Round strings and comes with a new Hiscox molded hardshell case (still with that new case smell !).
