I hear this bass has bounced around TB before I came aboard. It's up on the R'verb and other sites, but you can save some money here. If I wasn’t fortunate to have two of these I wouldn’t be parting with this one. A fine example of a modern builders take on the original. Hand shaped body and neck, with hand wound pickups using the same scatter wound technique in the 60’s to reproduce a very authentic vintage tone.
The body is lovely-grained black limba with a natural tint coating. The maple neck and fretboard have a caramel finish and unique black dot inlays with a fine copper ring around the perimeter. It is currently strung with LaBella flats.
I swapped the pickguard and control knobs for matching black pearloid. The original gold anodized pickguard and silver control knobs are included in the original hardshell case.
PLEASE NOTE the last two photos of the player wear on the lower bout and the upper horn. They are hard to notice unless out in the sunlight and they look to be just in the clear coat – so it might be possible to rub them out.
