Hey all! Here's the scoop. I have a MONSTER of a jazz bass. This is Daphne Blue, alder (light!) and thick, chocolatey rosewood. Please do not confuse this with one of the inexpensive Vintera series. This is light years beond one of those. This is a bass I had professionally built with PREMIUM parts (DON'T hit the back button yet!) with a genuine Fender Daphne Blue body, a (hand selected by me at the warehouse in Houston) primo extra STIFF Allparts jazz neck), Fralin 5% overwound j pickups, a parchment guard, professionally wired up and shielded, CTS 250k pots, orange drop .047 cap, Gotoh Res-O-Lite reverse tall tuners, Hipshot A bridge, Dunlop strap buttons, and the fretwork is dialed in to criminally low, perfectly level and crowned buzz-free action (1 to 1.5 mm at the 20th!). Bass weighs in the low-mid 8s and comes with a Fender bag. A dead-on logo (you know the one) is on the bass.
I did the one thing Leo didn't do (but 100% SHOULD have) is a perfectly placed channel for neck relief adjustments! No more neck off/on/restring/check/rinse and repeat! Black lacquer at the bottom of the channel like a Lakland. Basically a seriously custom-shop level bass at a parts price.
This is NOT a "parts" bass thrown together by some goon with a screwdriver and soldering gun. This is the Real Deal, a professionally built, every day player's bass that barks like a 62 should with Fodera playability. Yup. I own a really good Fodera, so this is a direct comparison. AND it plays and sounds every bit as good as my USA early Joe Osborne.
I only buy and sell the good stuff. Muckelroys, R Bass, Low End, Bordwell, Shawn May, Lakland USA, Mesa, AI, GR Bass, etc. This is no toy, and the best assembled Fender J-styled bass on TB, especially at this price. If someone doesn't take the bass, I'll part it out and make more money. BUT, this is a COMPLETE bass. Everything works together so well,..the stiffness of the neck, the resonance and light weight of the body. Sounds like a kicka** 62 j.
875 plus 25 shipping to your door, fully insured. Lower 48 and PayPal please, whichever nets me 900.
Clear plexiglass AMAZING pickup ramp (made by BONK) on the bass is not included, but is available for 35.
On to the show!
