This amazing bass started its life as a Super J. The previous owner swapped out the neck J pickup for a P pickup. Sounds and plays great!. All that P and J goodness
Here are the specs:
Ash body, Ash top, tort pick guard, Vintage white colour
5 piece Maple neck, Morado fingerboard, Pearloid front and side markers,
Glockenklang 2 band preamp, SFII bridge pickup, Precision neck pickup (original neck J pickup is included), 4 way pickup selector,
Weight - 8.5#
Condition - 9.9/10 It has the usual usage swirling on the guard. Nothing on the front, sides or neck - one tiny dimple on the back - this is as close to new as you’re going to see on the used market
Ships with a Dingwall gig bag and tool kit, the original J pickup and a new 5 string set of Dingwall Nickel strings

What controls are on the bass? Is there a parallel /series control? Passive only?

Active/passive.

It has a 2 band Glockenklang with a passive tone control on the treble pot.
The 4 way pick up selector does
Bridge solo
B/N parallel
B/N series
Neck solo.

the pick ups are probably internally wired in series.

I wouldn’t think so!

this is in my top 3 supers I’ve ever played/owned. I really love the neck and sound of this one.

plus that transparent off white is vintage sexy.

The bass is routed to accommodate both pick ups from the factory. Fwiw I owned this bass before @lotusland9663

fwiw, I don’t really “flip” a lot of instruments. I know what I like and am very very pleased with my bass harem. That said, I always play long scale and having 3 supers was ridiculous excess which forced the hard decision to thin things out.

I usually prefer X tops/woods etc. and with that this has been one of the hardest basses I have ever parted with. The tone, neck and playability of this thing is awesome, but like I said, I reside on long scales(and six string) 99% of the time. I only have the middle SJ left now.

I hear @AB Nate about this one being hard to let go. The transparent white is beautiful. I would have a very hard time letting go of mine (in avatar) as it is my favorite five-string. These don't literally kill, but they sure are fantastic instruments. :cool:
