In 2012 I came across this double bass via a dm from someone in tumblr. It was found in CT, in someone’s attic and brought to a used instrument shop. I bought the bass body for $800 and the tumblr user offered to repair the bass for me for $1000. I used this bass throughout college and for a few years in NY with the New Amsterdam symphony. This bass is so special to me, truly priceless— until recently.
I’m a single mother now and I have rent to pay. I don’t have time to practice or play anymore. This bass has been sitting in the corner of my apartment for almost 2 years. As much as I love this bass I understand it needs to be played. I know it’s worth more than my listing — I’m pricing at what I’ve spend on it in total across its active years — I really need to let go of it and let it be played. FYI, t
he bass has a very odd c extension on it, some repairs will be needed on some cracks.
