1971 Fender Precision Bass “closet queen” and in extremely good condition for a bass 55 years old. The bass has a sunburst finish, maple neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard and comes with original Fender HSC, tug bar, pup cover and bridge cover. Pots are stamped 307 7107 which indicates Stackpole pots produced the 7th week of 1971. There is no date stamp on the neck (not uncommon) but the backside of the heel has a handwritten “C” with a circle around it? Neck pocket is stamped “T. Chambers” and “G. Torres” who were common workers/assemblers for Fender during this era. Pickups stamped "6081". From what I've read it indicates 8th week of 71'.
The bass looks great with only minor dings and is 100% original except for a refret in 2020. Correct size and type frets were used in the refret. Bass plays great, weighs 8.25 lbs. and is strung with Sadowksy Blue Label Flats. Buyer to pay shipping costs, CONUS ONLY.
