Semi-hollow flamed Maple body with carved Spruce top.
3-piece carbon reinforced “glued through” Maple neck, laminated with smoked Oak veneers. Fully functional dual action truss rod.
Ebony fingerboard with side dots and 24 fret positions.
Matching Ebony tuner buttons.
Adjustable bridge: 19 mm (0.75″) down to 18 mm. May go a bit wider than 19 if desired.
Delano humbuckers & Marleaux V2 two band (treble and bass boost/cut) preamp with active/passive push/pull volume knob, blend pot, and passive tone control.
Weight: 9.2 lbs according to my bathroom scale. Not exactly sure how accurate my scale is, but that feels right to me.

Ships strung with TI flats that are a few months old. Dan Leonard from Luthier’s Access Group recommended TI flats to me for this bass and said he loved them on his fretless Contra. I agree, though I also had to try TI rounds and some LaBellas before putting the TI flats back on. They suit this bass’s deep, organic, woody voice particularly well.
The “aged violin” finish is a hard to capture accurately in cell photos. My photos aren’t bad, so this may be too much information, but it’s more elegant in person. This is my favorite finish available from Marleaux and I wish I had ordered my other one with the same finish, but I didn’t know that until I saw this one in person. YMMV. My phone seemed to add more yellow into the photos than is really there. I’d say it’s more of a natural look in person, sort of between Walnut and Mahogany colors. While it has subtle hints of orange/yellow/red my phone kind of exaggerated that somehow and it did so differently in different photos for whatever reason.
The bass is in very nice shape, but has been played and isn’t mint. I did my best to show all dings/scuffs/wear, but some of that is hard to photograph. Two points are worth mentioning. 1.) The previous owner switched the original Schaller strap buttons for Dunlops and had the one on the back of the bass set down into the body a bit. I had a professional luthier/tech check to verify that it was solid and got a thumbs up. It functions perfectly and is totally comfortable (I don’t feel it at all while playing), but I want to be sure to point this out. I think a couple subtle scratches around the strap button could’ve shown up better in the photos. 2.) There is a chip I point to in two photos trying to show it as well as possible. It can’t be felt or seen by the player or others while the instrument is being played.
Asking $150 for well-packed and fully insured shipping. It’ll cost more than that largely due to paying for insurance.

I broke a rule I made for myself a few times over and now have four great fretless fivers (this one, two F Basses, and a GWB1). I mostly play fretted instruments and keeping more than one fretless really isn’t justifiable for me at this point. So, I’ll have a couple more nice fretless basses for sale soon.
