I bought this a few months ago and installed it in my bass - it's a GREAT pickup, but that bass has a lot of mids, and this pickup has a lot of mids, and together it was just a bit too much of a good thing.
The metal cover and recessed mounting ears are part of DiMarzio's new style, designed in collaboration with Billy Sheehan. I really like the ergonomics of this pickup; no sharp corners to stab your thumb!
No corrosion - anything you see around the pole pieces is just a bit of wax that oozes out when you adjust the polepieces (the pickup is wax-potted).
Includes surgical tubing for mounting, shorter pickup screws, original plug-in wiring, and printed wiring and installation instructions.
