Summary: Overall great looking bass - sounds and plays exceptionally well despite a few minor cosmetic flaws. I had the nut replaced and frets dressed to provide for low action and great feel. As such it sounds and plays as good or better than other high end basses I've owned, and won't disappoint with its fantastic tone.
More detail: Weight: 12.5 lbs. - let's get that out of the way now. Feels light and narrow compared to my 9 string, surprisingly. Originally got the bass from GC with a broken nut, slight buzz in the 1-3 fret zone, and clear, acrylic ramps. I don't care for ramps, so I was able to remove them without damaging the body - but there are some blemishes from where someone else tried to remove them. Still, they aren't that noticeable from a short distance. Had the nut replaced with one from Conklin and the frets gone over by a local luthier, and now it plays fantastic.
Also, on this bass the curve for the volute on the back of the neck/headstock joint begins right under the first two tuning machines. I had to make some adjustments so they would mount correctly and not at an angle, but all is well now and they function perfectly. There are a couple of nicks inside the lower cutaway, and other minor play wear - see video for a better view. Overall a nice looking bass with some blemishes - a closet queen it is not, but it's not trashed either, and it's in better shape then when I got it.
Frets are in very good to excellent condition with very minor wear in the money-note areas. Both truss rods function correctly and it is set up for low action - modify to your tastes. Tuned low F# to high C. The GTBD preamp is my favorite - an awesome bass boost when you pull up on the bass knob, and a 3-way high boost - but with roundwounds it doesn't need it IMHO. YMMV.
I'll ship it in a gig bag and packed well/double boxed. Payments accepted include PayPal, Venmo, and credit cards. Hit me up with any questions or anything I missed!
