Hey Y'all,
As I continue on my pivot to short scales and have started the process of getting a custom conversion neck for my beloved and neglected Reverend Rumblefish I'm putting my last project G&L on the block.
What it is:
- US JB-2 in clear blue over what sure looks like ash
- light enough for me (8.8-8.9lbs depending on configuration)
- what looks like a quartersawn neck based on the grain on the end of the headstock
- 1.5" nut width satin neck
- it has some wear (various dings, etc. -- nothing huge but don't expect pristine by any stretch of the imagination)
- G&L molded case included
- currently set up as an 'SB-1' equivalent - MFD split-coil pickup, vol/tone controls (the switch is not connected to anything, that's from when it was set up as an L1K-equivalent)
Notes on the body:
- the routing under the pickguard is ugly/messy and you should be comfortable either leaving one of the pickguards on or doing the work you want to get it how you want it
- at one time one of the pickguards was screwed on so there are pickguard screw holes in the body as well - in the end I went back to sticking the pickguard on with 3M adhesive film
- the depth of the routes has been messed with over time as it did have DiMarzio Model Js installed (deeper than the average J pickup) for a while
- I've switched it between SB1 and L1K configs over the last several years
- I will remove the oval plate over the bridge J route -- you can drop a J pickup in it or cover it how you want. That route has only had the depth adjusted for the DiMarzios and is otherwise unmolested
What it comes with:
- installed black/white paisley Quickguard with reverse MFD P installed and vol/tone controls
- A MFD HB in L1K position black/silver Quickguard
- An MFD HB
- what I believe are the original G&L Jazz pickups
If you are comfortable dealing with the hacked neck 'routing' it's a decently light US G&L with a quartersawn neck and a variety of G&L pickups and a couple of customer Quickguards to assemble the player G&L of your wildest imagination.
$695 shipped CONUS SOLD
I would be willing to part it out - but only if the neck sells first:
While paying for my soon to be in progress custom neck is my primary objective I do have a very few things I might be interested in working a trade for:
- a Squier Paranormal Rascall bass <9lbs
- an Epiphone EB0/SG bass (lightweight, 8.5lbs or less) for a project I have in mind
- EBS Microbass 3
- Traynor SB200H
