For sale is a Fender MIJ 1966 Jazz Bass with all the classic appointments for a late 1966 model...Olympic White, tort guard, rosewood fret board, blocks, binding, pickup and bridge covers, and matching headstock. It's difficult to find detailed specs, but the pickups are single coil, and I believe the fretboard radius is 7.25 inches. Weight is 9 pounds 3.5 ounces without the covers.

The bass is in excellent condition, and I can't find any dings or scratches. MIJ Fender basses are well known for their high quality and this bass is no exception. My camera shows the color with a bit more cream than the actual color as seen in person. When compared to my 2023 Fender Pro II in Olympic White, the colors are very close.

The bass when sold new comes with a soft gig bag, but I will ship in a nice fender hard shell case. These basses are fairly uncommon, so if you've been looking for one, grab it!

For sale only, no trades.

Insured shipping to the lower 48 states is included.

I accept PayPal for payment.

Thanks for looking!

So, why is the MIJ more expensive than the American white that you also have for sale? It seems like the American would have a greater resale value. I have a 1998 Ken Smith BSR4J that I'm thinking of selling since I no longer play professionally. I play in my church twice a month and that's it.

MIJ models are not necessarily cheaper than USA, especially used. They are much more rare in the US and often times are a much cooler reissue model compared to something more ordinary and widely available, like an American Pro.

Thanks Mike, your answer is spot on. And this particular MIJ Jazz Bass is a limited edition model which makes them even more rare.

What year is this from? Is it a "Traditional Late 60s Jazz Bass?"
This is a 2013 model and it's a 1966 Jazz Bass, not the late 60s Jazz. The only difference I can see is the Late 60s model has lollipop tuners while my 66 has clover leaf (as you would expect).

I have not been able to find a definite answer. Some FSRs that are MIJ have alder bodies, but this one probably is basswood. If I find better info I'll post it.

I saw your thread about the neck swap but sorry, I'm not interested in selling just the neck.
Good luck with your search!
