I'm putting up for sale my 1981 Rickenbacker 4001 in fireglo. It's one of the last 4001’s. Complete with legendary skunk stripe and hairpin truss rods. Recently serviced by AceOnBassWorks with truss rod refurbishment and general checkup. This bass has a modern bridge hi gain replacement pickup rewound to vintage specs (8.2 k ohms) and original hi gain neck pickup (8.1k ohms). All original wiring, frets in great shape, and finish is weathered from years of love but otherwise a beautiful vintage Fireglo. Comes in a modern plastic molded Rickenbacker authentic case.

Asking $2500 including shipping to continental US addresses. Can ship worldwide for additional. I pack securely and ship using UPS Ground from the Kansas City metropolitan. Only trades considered would be potentially Rickenbacker basses, though I'd need to see what you have first.

I went to write a lengthy response and apparently there is a 1000 character limit for these questions on Talkbass. I'll DM you the long message. In short, the neck profile feels very good compared to 4003 necks. I don't think this neck is any different from most other 4001 necks, certainly not in a bad way anyways.
